All the necessary bits are there, and that, to me, is what was important. I absolutely loved the adventure zone podcast and was so excited this was a thing. The art style is fabulous and the tale hilarious. Print is bright and beautiful, Carey Pietsch’s artwork is amazing and perfectly captures all of the McElroys’ characters’ personalities. Huge fan of the podcast, so I knew I’d love this, but it’s even higher quality than I was expecting.

I find myself re-listening again and again and still being touched and moved to tears by the same incredible ups and downs of this story.
[Ommissions info here] I wouldn't have thought a podcast could translate to a comic book, but somehow it happened - and really awesomely. 3: Petals to the Metal released by First Second Books on July 2020. All of the McElroys' voices ring true, which is quite a feat considering that it went from comedic improv/voice acting to a primarily visual medium.
And a mystery! Highly recommend both to anyone that loves both creativity and adventure!

I could experience the plot in a more traditional way as well as the hilarious tangents in the podcast. I don't and loved it. And - oh my God! The Sawbones Book: The Hilarious, Horrifying Road to Modern Medicine Clint, Travis, and Justin respectively bring so much joy and heart through their own characters.
