They too have rounded edges, tapered bottoms and grills surrounding it, but the top panels are flat with a capacitive control pad rather than indented with physical buttons.The One and One SL speakers measure and weigh exactly the same as the Play:1 and they too come in white or black options, but the white option has a white matte grille and the black option has a black matte grille rather than the metal finishes of the Play:1. We use 3 different kinds of cookies. The computing platforms and software architecture in some of the older Sonos players like Play:3 and Play:1 simply don’t have the horsepower to support AirPlay 2. I was advised prior to Airplay 2 release about the functionality we were likely to get.
You refer to your stereo pair of play:1s as 'living room' but your screenshot does not have a 'living room', it has 'tv room'. We may earn a commission for purchases using our links. The Sonos One and Sonos One SL are compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 however, while the Play:1 is not with Sonos saying it "doesn't have the horsepower to support Air Play 2". I should add that the AirPlay2 menu has a different icon for the Sonos One versus the PLAY:1.
I'm not sure if its ok to post links, but there was a way around this glitch to play songs using Airplay on any group. One thing which just occurred to me - I frequently (though I didn’t do this since the update) use Alexa in the Sonos One to play a “Morning Briefng” in the “TV Room” ... (ie, “Alexa, play morning briefing in the TV Room”).
